Agriculture and cereals.
In Burkina Faso, the agricultural sector is a component of the economy of Burkina Faso. It contributes 35% to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employs 82% of the active population. Agricultural production is dominated by cereals (sorghum, millet, corn and rice), the main food crops, by cotton, the main cash crop, and by livestock. Arboriculture and market gardening also occupy a significant place. The Burkinabé cereal market is today helping to increase the incomes of rural families.
